The Story Behind Ikshu Handmade: Why I Started This Journey

I’ve always lived in limbo between two worlds. As an Indian American born and raised in the United States, I often felt like I was too Indian for the Americans and too American for the Indians. For a long time, I wondered where I truly belonged.

Over time, I found my own way to coexist — weaving Indian practices, traditions, and artisanal pieces into my Western lifestyle. That’s when I realized something: what I once saw as a gap was actually a strength.

It wasn’t just a personal gap. It was something I noticed in the world around me.

Indian culture, heritage, and traditions have always grounded me. They remind me to live with intention, embrace sustainability, and connect with the rich stories of my ancestry. On the other side, in my American environment, I often felt a sense of constant rushing — a melting pot, yes, but one that sometimes skimmed the surface of culture instead of going deep.

Ikshu Handmade was born from this realization. My vision is to bridge these worlds — to create space where authentic connection, sustainable practices, and artisanship can thrive together. I want to celebrate the voices and craft of Indian artisans while making it possible for Western audiences to bring these traditions into their own lives in a meaningful way.

This is more than a brand; it’s a journey of belonging, connection, and celebration.

I’d love for you to join me. Follow along on our socials for updates to be part of Ikshu Handmade’s story as it unfolds.

With love,
